2. What we collect and why

We do not process payment details ourselves – bookings and payments currently run entirely through Airbnb (see section 5). We never collect more data than necessary.
3. Cookies and website statistics
Our site uses cookies. On your first visit we ask for your consent via our cookie banner. For visitor statistics we use Google Analytics, which is only loaded after you give consent. See our Cookie Policy for details.
4. Maps
We display location maps using Google Maps. These are also loaded only after your consent, because Google may process data in the process.
5. Sharing with others
We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us provide our service:
- Our website hosting provider (to run the site)
- Google (Analytics and Maps) – see the section on transfers below
- Booking platforms (Airbnb) – bookings and payments currently run through Airbnb, which has its own privacy policy
- Our email provider, for correspondence
These parties may only use your data for the task we assign to them.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Google may process data on servers outside the EU (including the United States). This takes place under the safeguards required by the GDPR (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
7. How long we keep data
- Booking and correspondence data: as long as necessary for the booking, and thereafter in line with statutory (e.g. tax) retention periods.
- Contact form without a booking: up to 12 months.
- Analytics data: according to the settings in Google Analytics.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss or unauthorised access. Our site runs over a secure connection (https).
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access, rectify or erase your data;
- object to processing or request restriction;
- withdraw your consent (e.g. for cookies) at any time;
- receive your data in a common format (data portability).
To exercise these rights, email booking@quintabarroso.com. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: in Portugal the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt), or in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
